Minuteman Commuter Bikeway:
Plowing for Winter 2010-2011
The Friends of Lexington Bikeways and the Bicycle Advisory Committee are working this winter to ensure that the 5.5 miles of the Lexington portion of the Minuteman Bikeway is kept clear of snow this winter.
- Last winter, the Bikeway was kept clear between the Cambridge line and Bedford. The town of Arlington plows between Alewife and the Lexington town line.
- Again this year, we have hired John DeNapoli, a local contractor, to plow the Lexington section of the Minuteman Bikeway.
- The Town of Lexington has not allocated money in its plowing budget to cover Bikeway plowing, so:
- Lexington plowing is paid for by private donations from Bikeway users and others who value the Bikeway as a year-round resource.
- We need your help to keep the Bikeway clear this winter!
